ALOHA – I am happy

Date: 21 November 2018

Continuing on from last week’s post:

The fifth principle of the Huna Philosophy is:

ALOHA (I am happy)
To love is to be happy with

Aloha has many meanings. In Hawaiian, aloha is the word for love. To break down the word, aloha:
Alo means “to be with; to share an experience; to be in the moment.”
Oha means “joy; happiness.”
Ha means “life; breath; spirit.”

So when you see what the smaller words means that make up the whole word aloha, it can mean “the joyful sharing of life energy in the present moment” or “to love is to be happy with.”

Hawaiian historian Serge Kahili King says…

The Aloha Spirit is a well known reference to the attitude of friendly acceptance for which the Hawaiian Islands are so famous. However, it also refers to a powerful way to resolve any problem, accomplish any goal, and to achieve any state of mind or body that you desire.

In the Hawaiian language, aloha stands for much more than just “hello” or “goodbye” or “love.” Its deeper meaning is “the joyful (oha) sharing (alo) of life energy (ha) in the present (alo).”
